Conducting due diligence in Zimbabwe

What is due diligence? Due diligence is an investigation and analysis for a client to take reasonable steps to mitigate risk. A due diligence report can be simple or comprehensive. It is not a legal requirement to conduct a due diligence, but it is a very important requirement for any reasonable person to identify risk especially concerning the buying and selling of immovable property in Zimbabwe. It is important to emphasis that a carefully prepared due diligence report can provide a client with sufficient information and/or evidence which has a bearing on a particular transaction as a detailed due diligence report will contain adequate information to assist a client deciding on signing a contract or entering into a joint venture agreement for instance.
