Damages in lieu of reinstatement in Zimbabwe
Where reinstatement is ordered by a Labour Officer or the Labour Court in Zimbabwe it ought to be accompanied by an alternative relief of damages in lieu of reinstatement. Where there is no order for reinstatement, it is inappropriate for a Labour Officer or the Labour Court to grant an order for damages in lieu of reinstatement. See Zimbabwe Revenue Authority v Sithole SC 92-25.
