Noise Pollution Regulations in Zimbabwe
Rules and regulations concerning noise pollution have always existed in Zimbabwe. Some of the important rules and regulations include the following:
(a) The Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27];
(b) The Factories and Works Act [Chapter 14:08];
(c) The Public Health Act [Chapter 15:17]; and
(d) The Regional Town and Country Planning Act [Chapter 29:12].
The Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27] provides for the setting of minimum standards for the emission of noise and vibration pollution into the environment to preserve and maintain public health and the environment. Furthermore, numerous towns and cities have enacted by-laws to address the issue of noise within the jurisdictions, which include but are not limited to the following:

Norton (Noise Control) By-Laws, 2000
Plumtree Town (Noise) By-Laws, 2025
