Qualifications of a Notary Public in Zimbabwe
The office of a “Notary Public” is a unique public office of trust and fidelity. Every Notary Public residing and practicing in Zimbabwe is someone who has sworn an oath to execute his or her duties faithfully and in accordance with the laws of the country. In order for one to be a Notary Public they have to be qualified. What this means is that they have to be a registered legal practitioner. However, not all legal practitioners are notaries. A Notary Public is a legal practitioner who is registered with the High Court of Zimbabwe and has undertaken and passed a special examination on notarial practice. He or she is regarded as an impartial witness to the signing of important documents.
