Registration of International Organisation as a PVO in Zimbabwe

All international organisations that wish to be PVOs in Zimbabwe should have signed a (MOU) with the GOZ through the relevant ministries, to their area of technical operations.

The signed MOU is then submitted to the Registrar of PVOs at the Head Office, together with the following details

• (a) A copy of the organisation’s proof of registration in its country of origin;
• (b) Curriculum vitae and Interpol clearance certificate for the country representative (the Interpol clearance is required where the country representative is of foreign origin, but local police clearance suffices where the representative is a citizen or permanent resident of Zimbabwe);
• (c) A letter of delegation or power of attorney from the organisation’s headquarters authorising the local chapter to be set up;
• (d) Project proposal outlining the proposed area of geographic coverage, programmes and budget estimate for the duration initially covered by the MOU;
• (e) Period of financial year i.e. 1 January to 31 December, 1 July to 30 June’
• (f) The organisation’s headquarters and organogram;
• (g) Complete PVO 1 and 2 application for registration form.

The MoUs should define the operational parameters of the organisation’s partnership with technical supervisory ministries; the proposed geographic areas to be covered by the organisation. International organisations are required by the Code to notify host local authorities in the area of operations prior to commencing operations.
