Rights and duties of statutory tenants in Zimbabwe
Section 23 of the Commercial Premises (Rent) Regulations 1983 provides for the rights and duties of statutory tenants in Zimbabwe. Resultantly, in Zimbabwe a tenant/lessee who retains possession of any commercial premises shall as long as they retain possession, observe and be entitled to the benefit of all the terms and conditions of the original lease, so far as the same are consistent with the provisions of the regulations established from time to time by the Minister.
