The Law Governing Trusts in Zimbabwe

The Law Governing Trusts in Zimbabwe The law governing trusts in Zimbabwe is the common law which has largely evolved through case law. Care must be taken not to confuse a trust in Zimbabwe, with a trust in Namibia or South Africa for example. The latter have to a certain extent codified the common law principles applicable to the administration of trusts.
Zimbabwe does not have similar legislative enactments governing trusts, similar to the Trust Moneys Protection Act 34 of 1934 which applies in Namibia or the Trust Property Act 57 of 1988 which applies in South Africa.
